After two weeks away on vacation, during which I barely had a chance to pen the odd blog post and zero opportunity to add a new podcast episode, I am back and ready to resume normal service.
If you haven’t followed the blog tour I scheduled to run during my absence, you can catch up on all the appearances here, with a few more still to come.
Coming up this week, I will be continuing my series of lectures on Tolkien’s The Children of Hurin with episode 5 on Wednesday, and then continuing my essay series on fantasy motifs on Friday. Friday will also see me make a guest appearance at the Wicked & Tricksy weblog, where I will be presenting a short essay on “Fantasy as Social Commentary.”
With the start of the fall semester looming, my book reviews will likely slow down, but my pledge is maintain the podcast as the primary concern of this site. The Children of Hurin series nears its end, and I plan to do a series on Ursula LeGuin’s The Wizard of Earthsea beginning in September.
